Helene Segara is very popular since 1996, with songs as « Il y a trop de gens qui t’aiment », « Elle tu l’aimes », « On n’oublie jamais rien on vit avec » or « L’amour est un soleil ».
Revealed by the role of Esmeralda in the musical “Notre Dame de Paris” and thanks to her duet “Vivo per lei” with the Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, she is also composer and occasionally TV presenter.
Her desire to become a professional singer makes her leave school and family at the age of 15. She does several small jobs and performs in piano bars of the French Riviera. In 1993 the first single “Loin” is released. It doesn’t meet a real success but it allows her to make a first TV appearance.
In 1996 she moves to Paris. She also meets Orlando, Dalida’s brother, who manages her and gives her career a new impulse.
The success starts in 1996 with « Je vous aime adieu », firt single from the album « Cœur de verre », and with the duet « Vivo per lei » with Andrea Bocelli in 1997 (almost one million sold copies). Helene Segara then plays the role of Esmeralda in the musical “Notre Dame de Paris” composed by Riccardo Cocciante and Luc Plamondon. The musical is a huge success, and the first album of Helens is again edited in 1999, enriched with new titles such as “Vivre “, main theme of « Notre-Dame de Paris ».
In 2000 she records her second album « Au nom d’une femme ». With the hits « Il y a trop de gens qui t’aiment », « Elle tu l’aimes », « Parlez-moi de nous » and « Tu vas me quitter », the album becomes #1f the top 50, diamond record and is elected “French Album of the Year” at the NRJ Music Award. According to an IFOP survey Hélène is the French favorite singer in France and in February 2001 she is elected “Female Artist of the Year “at the French Music Victories.
In March 2003, the album « Humaine » is released, with songs like « On n’oublie jamais rien on vit avec » and « L’amour est un soleil ». 700 000 copies are sold.
In January 2005, the song « Il y a trop de gens qui t’aiment » is elected « Best love song” at Festival of French Song.
The fourth album « Quand l’éternité…. » is released in 2006, with the singles « Méfie-toi de moi » and « Rien n’est comme avant ». Different from the previous ones, with more rock influences and with songs mostly composed by the singer on darker themes, the album becomes Golden record with more than 200,000 sold copies.
The year 2008 is also dedicated to a new album released on November 17: “Mon pays c’est la terre ” including covers of 15 songs from different countries. In 2010, she joins the show “The most beautiful songs of” Notre Dame de Paris “with the original troupe in Kiev, Moscow and St. Petersburg. One year later, the troupe plays at Bercy for 3 nights, accompanied by a symphonic orchestra and 40 chorus singers.
A new album « Parmi la Foule » is released on April 25, 2011, with 12 songs, including « La vie avec toi ».
A cover album with Joe Dassin’s songs is released on October 7, 2013 (with virtual duets with the singer) supported by the single « Et si tu n’existais pas ». Helene is much involved in this ambitious project. It is for her an extraordinary opportunity to « meet » Joe and to give a tribute to the singer, even if his songs are still popular worldwide, from Russia to South America. The result is amazing and very impressive. A show is planned for 2014. Helene receives a Platinium record for the single « Et si tu n’existais pas » one month only after its release.
