Sous le ciel de Paris

« Sous le ciel de Paris s’envole une chanson, Sous le ciel de Paris marchent des amoureux… » one of the most popular song from Yves Montand, well-known outside the French borders. From the first notes it brings us to the most romantic spots in Paris. Immediately come the images of narrow cobbled streets, green parks, small bistros and impressive monuments.
The show « Sous le ciel de Paris » is based on these famous songs enjoyed by several generations of music lovers worldwide. Accompanied by an accordion or piano, the legendary songs of Yves Montand, Edith Piaf and Joe Dassin bring us in past eras while new original arrangements add beauty and lightness to these melodies.
Julien Dassin, son of Joe Dassin, is behind the project. In October 2010 Julien already dedicated to his father the show « Once upon a time… Joe Dassin » that met a big success in France and abroad among the young but also the older audience.
In the show, Julien meets Florence Coste who shares his passion for music and for French variety. Florence and Julien become friends and decide to record an album together. « We had the idea both of us, there are lots of love songs among the repertoire of Yves Montand and we were willing to sing them together», says Julien Dassin.
The album « Monsieur Montand » is released on January 30, 2012. It includes 14 songs of the legendary singer. Julien is a true lover of real and qualitative French song. « In this album you find lightness, freshness and insouciance of post-war. In this crisis, it feels good! Moreover, the songs of Montand, and these of my father, really talk to people ».
After the presentation of the clip « Sous le ciel de Paris » Julien and Florence begin to prepare the eponymous tour. Besides the songs of the album “Mr. Montand” they retain several classics that were in line with the current times and that offer a patch of blue sky when the hearts are cloudy”.
The show « Sous le ciel de Paris » is about a love story in a special atmosphere created by old-style sets and video projections with Parisian panoramas. The singers are accompanied by an accordion and by dancers. The choreographer is Marjorie Ascione, well-known for her work in the musicals “The 10 Commandments”, “The Sun King” and others.
